What is the Rooftop Rodeo:
The Rooftop Rodeo, where the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains and the All-American sport of Rodeo come together. Located at the Stanley Park Fairgrounds in Estes Park, Colorado the rodeo arena is surrounded by world class views in every direction. As the sun sets over the Continental Divide, your attention is drawn to one of the great traditions of the American west...RODEO!  It's a show you don't want to miss.

Other events and activities associated with the Rooftop Rodeo offer something for everyone.  The annual Memorial Day weekend Western Art and Antique Show kicks off the summer rodeo season with great western art and unique treasures offered by artists and vendors from around the country.  It’s a great way to start your summer season in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado.

Rodeo week officially begins on July 10 with the annual Rooftop Rodeo Parade.  With over 70 entries it is a colorful start to a fun-filled week that includes Wednesday's cancer benefit golf tournament held on one of the most scenic 18 hole golf courses in the country.  Surround yourself with the majestic Rocky Mountains as you compete for great prizes.  On Saturday night after the rodeo, kick up your heels at the annual Queen’s Dance featuring talented, local musicians and country bands.  But first!  Head over to Performance Park Monday night, July 9th at 7 p.m. to enjoy the music of local singing cowboy Ron Ball.

Six different Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) events and Women's professional barrel racing perform every night of the Rooftop Rodeo.  Each one featuring some of America's best cowboys and cowgirls. Bareback bronc riding, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and the ever-popular bull riding are the standard-fare rodeo events. For the youngest cowboys and cowgirls, the Rooftop Rodeo also features a crowd-pleasing mutton bustin competetion at every rodeo performance and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, a calf scramble for cowpokes 8-12 years of age.

Voted PRCA's "Best Small Rodeo of the Year" for many years, The Rooftop Rodeo is known for its small town western hospitality and family-friendly atmosphere.  Come visit and join in the fun, it's a rodeo you don't want to miss; we’ll be happy to see ya and most of all………”LET’S RODEO”!

Howell Wright, PresidentA Note from our President, Howell F Wright:

CHANGE! This is a word that strikes fear in the hearts in many and in others it is a word that excites and rejuvenates. I am pleased that the Committee I work with, almost to the person, falls in the “excites and rejuvenates” category. I say this because this year we have taken several steps to make our organization and your Rooftop Rodeo the best it has ever been.

We started with a basic organizational change in that the Committee is now part of a new Colorado nonprofit organization, Estes Park Western Heritage, Inc. The mission of what we are calling simply Western Heritage or WH is “To promote the western culture and preserve the western heritage of the Estes Valley by producing and supporting activities for the education and enjoyment of its residents and visitors.”

This expanded mission gives us the opportunity to not only support the Rooftop Rodeo but events like the Estes Park Barrel Race, Western Art and Antique Show, Golf Tournament for Cancer Research, and our Youth Scholarship Program.

The members of WH want to make a difference! Part of this difference is to give each of you the best possible rodeo experience. Come see what we mean. Like I say, “If it is July, and if it is Rodeo, then you just have to be at the Rooftop in Estes Park, CO – July 10-15, 2012. When you see me please say hello. I would love to visit with you. Your friend, Howell.
